Current Events Sweepstakes is a proven teaching aid that is invaluable for helping students become more aware of important events taking place in the world around them. Used enthusiastically by social studies, journalism, government and civics teachers since 1968, CES is published weekly during the school year.
Each issue contains 100 questions arranged in an easy-to-play "game format" that will involve the whole class. The questions, crafted by an experienced staff of educators, are organized into categories covering all aspects of current events, from national and foreign affairs to sports, science, and the entertainment world.
Teachers find that Current Events Sweepstakes quickly becomes one of the most popular and effective teaching aids in their classrooms. Because of the interactive nature of the game, students are challenged to "bone up" for the competition by searching the Internet, reading newspapers and magazines, and watching the news on TV.
